Ventilation and airflow CFD analysis
Supply and exhaust positions on a drawing do not show where the air actually goes. A CFD study does: stagnant zones, short circuits between supply and exhaust, and heat that is not removed from equipment.
Questions this work answers
- Does supply air reach the occupied zone or the equipment that needs cooling?
- Where are the stagnant zones and the short circuits between supply and exhaust?
- How do diffuser positions, flow rates or equipment layout change the pattern?
What the work covers
- Room or enclosure geometry with supply and exhaust openings, heat sources and major obstructions
- Velocity and temperature fields, air-change effectiveness and transport of a tracer such as CO₂
- Checks: mass and heat balances, mesh assessment, comparison with measurements where available
What it cannot tell you
The study describes airflow, temperature and tracer distribution for the stated conditions. It is not a health-risk assessment or a statement of regulatory compliance, and it does not capture door openings, people moving or infiltration unless they are modelled.
